Eric built this home in 2003 with entertaining in mind. Eric opened the Hamilton Scot Inn to guests in 2013. Eric is a history buff and made sure the home was full of history; even the walls have a story!
One of the first exquisite features you will notice when you enter the inn is our gorgeous hardwood floors. Our parquet hardwood floor is a recreation of Thomas Jefferson’s parquet hardwood floors in Monticello. When you look around the inn, you will notice our walls with exquisite wood paneling; we brought this paneling in from the First Citizens Bank that was torn down in Raleigh in 1990. A few other pieces that have a wonderful story include:
- The settee in the entryway which once resided in the French Embassy in Singapore
- Select pieces of furniture throughout the inn were handcrafted by Eric’s great-great-great Grandfather, Timothy Vogler
As you walk up the stairs to our guest suites, you will see our luxurious wrought iron railing which was created by David DeSantis who is a blacksmith and artist that works with iron; David’s work is being featured on HGTV soon!
