The Hamilton Scot Inn’s keeper is Eric Hoke; Eric has over 30 years of experience in the fine dining and hospitality industry.
Eric built this home in 2003 with entertaining in mind. Eric opened the Hamilton Scot Inn to guests in 2013. Eric is a history buff and made sure the home was full of history; even the walls have a story!
One of the first exquisite features you will notice when you enter the inn is our gorgeous hardwood floors. Our parquet hardwood floor is a recreation of Thomas Jefferson’s parquet hardwood floors in Monticello. When you look around the inn, you will notice our walls with exquisite wood paneling; we brought this paneling in from the First Citizens Bank that was torn down in Raleigh in 1990. A few other pieces that have a wonderful story include:
- The settee in the entryway which once resided in the French Embassy in Singapore
- Select pieces of furniture throughout the inn were handcrafted by Eric’s great-great-great Grandfather, Timothy Vogler
As you walk up the stairs to our guest suites, you will see our luxurious wrought iron railing which was created by David DeSantis who is a blacksmith and artist that works with iron; David’s work is currently being featured on HGTV for the quality and service that he provides to homes that he customizes!
